I am & You are
In the African life philosophy ubuntu is IAM & YOUARE further developed in a different way. Then we talk about ‘I am because we are’ and that symbolizes your humanity towards others.
Aartsbisschop Desmond Tutu (1999) explains to us: ‘A person with ubuntu is open to others, devotes himself or herself to others, does not feel threatened by the abilities of others because he or she gains enough self-confidence from the knowledge that he or she is part of a bigger picture and shrinks when others are humiliated or when others are tortured or oppressed’.
A concrete example. When someone from the team makes a crucial mistake within a project, is that the fault of that employee or has the entire team failed by not signaling in time that this team member had insufficient knowledge and made the wrong choice?
We are well aware of the reverse. If the team member is suddenly very successful, then as a team we would all like to enjoy that great success. Then suddenly it is: ‘our success’.
The origins of IAMCLAUDIA
In my previous company I carried out coaching work under the name TOTARA. This name is derived from a tree, which in my opinion has beautiful similarities with coaching. A tree can show how you are rooted, what your attitude is and how you blossom. After 10 years of entrepreneurship it was time to complete TOTARA.
Now I am facing a new beginning and starting my new company IAMCLAUDIA. Over the years I have noticed that my customers come to me precisely because I am who I am. They often knew my own name better than my company name.
Within IAMCLAUDIA I want to continue to be amazed, listen sincerely, ask questions and truly understand who you are and work with you on your new balance.
